Shipping & Delivery Policy

Parts leave this counter four ways: over it, by local delivery in Madurai, by courier, and by goods transport for anything too big for a courier. This page sets out which applies, how freight is quoted, and what to check before you sign for a consignment.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers goods dispatched by Alagendran Automobiles and the group's other spares counters — parts, accessories, helmets, lubricants and consumables — however the order reached us.

2. How goods reach you

Counter collection
Collect in person from #177/1, North Veli Street, Simmakkal, Madurai – 625001, Tamil Nadu, during counter hours. There is no charge for collection, and it is the fastest route for anything in stock.
Door delivery — Madurai
Local delivery within Madurai city for orders placed at the counter, by phone or on WhatsApp. Availability, timing and any charge are confirmed when the order is confirmed.
Courier
Small and medium parts, accessories and helmets travel by courier across Tamil Nadu and outstation, to the address you give us.
Goods transport
Bulky and oversized items — bumpers, body panels, glass, radiators, large assemblies — travel by surface transport and are collected from the transport operator's goods office nearest you, unless door delivery has been separately arranged and quoted.

3. Freight and packing charges

Freight is not a flat rate. What a consignment costs to send depends on its weight and dimensions, the destination, the mode chosen and, for fragile or high-value goods, the packing required. A single body panel and a box of filters going to the same town cost very different amounts to move.

  • Freight and packing are quoted to you, separately from the value of the goods, before dispatch. You confirm before we send.
  • Where a delivery is offered free — a local delivery, or a trade consignment above an agreed value — that is stated when the order is confirmed.
  • Freight charged by the carrier at the destination ("to-pay" consignments) is common on goods transport and is payable by you when you collect.
  • Transit insurance is not included by default. Ask for it if you want it on a high-value or fragile consignment, and it will be quoted.

4. Dispatch and delivery times

  • In stock: ordinarily dispatched within one to two working days of the order and payment being confirmed.
  • Indent items — parts we order in from the manufacturer or a principal for you — are quoted with their own lead time at the point of enquiry, because that time is the manufacturer's, not ours.
  • Delivery time after dispatch depends on the carrier and the destination and is outside our control.
  • Working days exclude Sundays, public holidays and festival holidays on which the counter is closed.

5. Addresses and consignees

  • Give a complete address with a PIN code and a mobile number that will be answered. Most failed deliveries are failed phone calls.
  • One order goes to one address. If you need parts sent to two places, place two orders so each can be documented and tracked separately.
  • We cannot change a delivery address once the consignment has left us. A redirection, where the carrier allows one at all, is charged by the carrier.
  • If a consignment is returned to us undelivered because the address was wrong, the consignee was unreachable, or delivery was refused, the freight both ways is payable by you, and the balance is refunded under the Refund Policy.

6. Checking a consignment on delivery

This matters more than any other paragraph on this page, because a transit claim depends almost entirely on it:

  1. Check the number of packages against the invoice before you sign.
  2. If the outer packing is torn, crushed, wet or opened, record it on the carrier's delivery receipt at the moment you sign, and photograph the package before opening it.
  3. Open and check the contents the same day.
  4. Report shortage, transit damage, a wrong part or a description mismatch to us within 48 hours of delivery, with the invoice number and photographs.

A signed clean receipt is the carrier's evidence that the consignment arrived intact. Damage reported after the consignment has been signed for clean, or after the 48-hour window, is very difficult to claim against — see the Return Policy.

7. Title and risk

Goods travel at the risk of the buyer once handed to the carrier, which is why we ask you to check the consignment on arrival. Title in the goods passes to you when payment has been received in full.

8. Where we deliver

We supply retail and wholesale customers across Tamil Nadu, and dispatch outstation within India where the goods can lawfully and practically be carried. We do not export or ship internationally from this website.

Some goods cannot be sent by air or by certain couriers — lubricants, aerosols, batteries and other restricted items in particular. Where that applies, we will tell you at the time of the order and offer surface transport instead.
